Doorwell does not collect your data. There is no account, no login, no server, and no analytics. Nothing you write or choose in the app is ever sent to us.
That is the whole policy. The rest of this page explains exactly what the app stores and where it stays, so you can check the claim rather than take it on faith.
What you write. Your entries are saved to a file in the app's private container on your phone. They are never transmitted to us or to any third party.
Device backups. If you have iCloud Backup turned on, the file holding your entries is included in your encrypted device backup, the same as other app data on your phone. That is ordinary iOS behaviour, and we have no access to that backup. We mention it because "it stays on your device" would otherwise be slightly misleading.
The apps you choose to gate. Doorwell uses Apple's Screen Time framework. Your selections are handed to the app as opaque tokens. Doorwell cannot see which apps you picked, cannot read their contents, and cannot observe anything you do inside them. Apple's system enforces the gate; the app only asks for it.
Speech. If you speak an entry instead of typing it, transcription runs entirely on your device. Doorwell requires on-device recognition and hides the microphone altogether on devices that cannot do it locally, so your audio never leaves your phone.
Reminders. Notifications are scheduled locally by iOS. There is no push server, and the app has no push notification entitlement.
Doorwell makes no network requests. There is no analytics SDK, no advertising SDK, and no crash reporting SDK anywhere in the app. We do not collect, store, sell, share, or transfer any personal information, because none of it reaches us in the first place.
In Apple's App Privacy terms, Doorwell's declaration is Data Not Collected.
Subscriptions are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. Apple handles the transaction and tells the app only whether an active subscription exists. Your payment card, billing address, and Apple Account details are never seen by Doorwell or by us. Apple's handling of that information is governed by Apple's Privacy Policy.
Doorwell is not directed at children under 13 and collects no information from anyone, including children.
Because everything lives on your device, deleting the app removes it. There is no server-side copy for us to delete and no request you need to send us.
Privacy laws including the GDPR and CCPA give you rights to access, correct, export, and delete personal data a company holds about you. We hold none. Your entries are already in your hands, on your own device.
If Doorwell ever changes in a way that affects this policy, we will update this page and change the date at the top. If a future version of the app were to collect anything, we would tell you inside the app and ask first.
